How to Install Trend Micro
Purchase or Log In to Your Account
Visit trendmicro.com and purchase a plan, or log in to your existing account at account.trendmicro.com. Your activation code will be emailed to you after purchase.
Download the Installer
From your account dashboard, click "Download" next to your product. The installer file (approximately 4–6 MB) will download to your device. On Windows it is a .exe file; on Mac it is a .pkg file.
Run the Installer
Open the downloaded file and follow the on-screen prompts. On Windows, click "Yes" when prompted by User Account Control. On Mac, enter your system password when asked.
Enter Your Activation Code
When prompted, enter the 20-character activation code from your purchase confirmation email. The code is case-insensitive and formatted as XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX.
Complete the Setup
Trend Micro will download the latest virus definitions (this may take a few minutes depending on your internet speed). Once complete, run your first full system scan to establish a baseline.
Verify Protection is Active
Look for the Trend Micro icon in your system tray (Windows) or menu bar (Mac). A green shield indicates protection is active. If you see a warning, open the app and follow the on-screen instructions.
